A semi detached villa set on a busy street in Leichhardt. The previous owners had attempted to mitigate ongoing maintenance with a series of deck terraces occupying the majority of the rear garden. The client wishes to open up the garden to improve permeability across the site, while allowing for lawn space for their children to run, bike and play.
High level screening was needed to increase privacy from rising apartment blocks, with lots of planting to build a space which creates a sense of enclosure and retreat from the hustle and bustle that surrounds.
